Ballet. A few words immediately come to mind when I picture ballerinas. Elegance. Grace. Strong. Passionate. And all of these words can be used to describe Emmy.
Emmy is a sweet, down-to-earth 15-year-old girl. This girl has climbed mountains to overcome obstacles that should have prevented her from being able to dance. This girl doesn’t take no for an answer. This girl fights for her dreams.
Emmy has been dancing since she was just 4-years-old. Over a decade of doing what she’s passionate about. But she also suffers from discoid meniscus. In simple terms, it’s a rare condition that affects the knee. A congenital disease that one is born with, it often presents itself in early childhood. Emmy had her first surgery at just the age of two, and has had multiple surgeries since. Even as recent as just a few months ago! Through all the hardships, Emmy has kept a smile on her face and never gave up dancing.

Thank you Emmy, for always being a joy to work with! I had so much fun dreaming up this session and bringing it to life. You were absolutely stunning.
