Little Rock Studio Portrait Session

My sweet baby boy isn’t a baby anymore. 5 years. 5 years ago this little boy flipped my world in the best way possible and made me a mother. He’s so big and still so little all at the same time. His chubby cheeks have turned a little more slender. His baby babble has transformed into full blown conversations (and attitude – mama, you feel me). He needs me a little less as he navigates the world and learning to do things on his own; but, he still needs me. This Little Rock studio portrait session was captured to remind me of that – so I’ll never forget this stage of his life.

I swear the world slows down when I take a pause to watch him. Study him. The way he dances without a care in the world. The way he lines his cars up and so proudly shows me. The way his eyelashes lay on cheeks when he falls asleep. I want each and every detail so deeply rooted in my memory that I never forget them.

5 years – it seems like such a monumental milestone in my baby’s life. But all the milestones feel like that, don’t they? I’ll be holding him a little extra tight tonight hoping he never grows up.

So, what did year 5 look like for us?

A strong love for all things PJ Masks – they were carried around everywhere, stuffed in every imaginable pocket and back pack, and tucked in bed with us at night. The cuddles are still strong, even though he refuses kisses now. Spiderman is just a big deal as Anna from Frozen. His eyes were opened a little more at how scary the world can be during the world-wide pandemic and self quarantine…but there was lots of quality family time and so so many cuddles. We climbed mountains, hiked new trails, and searched for waterfalls. And overall, year 5 was just as amazing as every other year. Jackson, you are loved more than you could ever know.
